Free software from Absa to protect against identity theft
Wednesday, May 16, 2007
Absa will provide the latest version of Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security Version 14 free of charge to its more than 650 000 Internet banking customers. Designed to combat unpredictable malicious threats like phishing, spyware, spam, hackers, viruses, and more, PC-cillin Internet Security aims to offer home computer users comprehensive security in an automated, easy-to-use package.

Valued at R484,50, the latest version combines anti-phishing security with enhanced anti-virus, anti-spyware, and anti-spam protection, providing users with real-time defence against online fraud and identity theft.

Advanced home network protection, such as greater parental controls, personal firewall capabilities, Wi Fi security against hackers, and centralised management is intended to provide parents with greater assurance that their home computing environment´s security is up to date and their families are safe when they are online.

PC-cillin Internet Security´s enhanced features counter the rising concerns resulting from various unpredictable threats. According to a recent Trend Micro study, more than one-third of home computer users with anti-virus protection believe that they have been the victim of a malicious attack, such as spyware, virus or spam. The findings validate the need for users to install more comprehensive multi-threat protection at home.
